80th Birthday Party in Suffolk
Last weekend I was invited to take some photos at a family party to celebrate the 80th Birthday of Pip, a bit of a character by the looks of things.
There was rather a lot of this going on…
I love this one
Mother’s Day Portrait Photography Suffolk
Calling all Dads! Mothering Sunday this year is on March 14th so now is the time to be thinking about a fabulous present for a special mum. Rather than the usual flowers or chocolates, why not arrange a lifestyle portrait photography session of your children and let them present their mum with a framed print, canvas or album with her breakfast in bed? If this is her first Mother’s Day, a baby portrait sitting in your own home would make a gift she will love forever.
Email or call me now to book your sitting.
Winter Wedding Photography | Hannah and Adam | Hintlesham Hall
I had been looking forward to Hannah and Adam’s wedding for a long time! As I had previously requested, the day before the wedding saw a decent snowfall but Saturday morning dawned bright and cold.
Hintlesham Hall looked fantastic.
Hannah and the girls were getting ready in the Orchard Room
I was a little beside myself when I got my hands on my first pair of Jimmy Choos.
I eventually gave in and let Hannah put them on
I left the girls for a few minutes to find the boys who were toasting themselves (in both senses of the word) by the fire.
So I ushered (!) them outside to make the most of the glorious landscape
Hannah’s mother read a passage from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin
By the end of the ceremony the light was fading quickly but there was a lovely sunset, so we braved the conditions and went outside for a few shots
We went back inside for the receiving line, then dinner
Of course after dinner come the speeches, and I have to say I love listening to these. People put a lot of effort into them nowadays and they aren’t merely a list of thank yous. I have heard some very good best men’s speeches in my time, but this was an absolute corker…..
….as you may be able to tell from Adam’s reactions
I love to keep an eye on the children at weddings. As they day wears on they can start to get a little tired and, dare I say it, bored, which can make for some great photos.
Once the dining room had been cleared for the evening, the wedding singer set up and Hannah and Adam took their first dance.
Whereupon I departed into the deep and crisp and even
Contemporary Children’s Portraits | Ipswich | Suffolk
Here is another set from a portrait photography session done towards the end of last year for family Christmas presents. This studio style photography is done with portable lighting equipment which can be set up in any reasonably sized room or you can come to me, if you don’t mind the kitten using the paper roll as a skid pan from time to time!
Children’s portraits | Woodbridge | Suffolk
Here are some of the photos from a children’s lifestyle portrait session I did towards the end of autumn last year. I’ve waited until now to blog them as they were a surprise Christmas present for the boys’ dad. I’ve since heard that he was delighted with the photos and even had a tear in his eye as he looked at them!
This photography session took place in Elmhurst Park in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
Trash the Dress Suffolk
Anyone brave enough for a Trash the Dress shoot in the snow?
I’m game if you are!
Give me a call or drop me a line soon!
A Photo a Day
Happy New Year everybody! I hope 2010 brings you everything you wish for.
I have lots of blogging to catch up with, including the gorgeous winter wedding at Hintlesham Hall just before Christmas, the Enterprising Women Conference, and some portrait sessions which were Christmas presents so I didn’t want to spoil any surprises!
I’ve also set myself the challenge of taking a photo a day for 2010. It’s funny state of affairs that you pursue a career in photography because you love taking photos, but once you have made the decision to earn a living from it you sometimes feel that every image you take ought to be a money spinner in some way. So this is just for the hell of it. In one way it’ll be a bit of a discipline, in another it’s for fun. Sometimes it will be an image I’ve set up and taken with the professional camera, others it will be a snap on my iPhone.
I’m not quite sure how to post the, whether to do them day by day, or to do a week at a time.
For now, here are the first four days of 2010
